Age 78, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Appleton Medical Center, with his family by his side. Lyle was born in Black Creek, Wisconsin, on February 14, 1926, son of the late Sherman and Nora (Doehling) McGlin. He served his country as an Army paratrooper during World War II. Lyle married Patricia Swiertz on May 29, 1950. He was an exceptional carpenter, creating furniture and cabinetry for numerous carpentry firms. Lyle enjoyed woodworking and fishing and was also an avid Packer fan. He was a devoted family man who was proud of his great-grandchildren. Lyle always put his family first and will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia; 2 daughters, Kathleen Berholtz and her fiancée Rick; Jeanette (Jeff) Zabel; his brother, Donald (Verna) McGlin; 4 grandchildren: Michelle Peterson, Shane Zabel, John Berholtz, III and Tara Zabel; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kody Peterson and Trent Zabel. He is further survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his brothers: Leroy, Ervin and Robert. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 2, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
