Lucy M Vanden Heuvel

June 11, 1930 — September 3, 2017

Lucille M. Vanden Heuvel, of Appleton (formerly Kimberly), went to be with her heavenly family on September 3, 2017, at the age of 87. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Thedacare Regional Medical Center of Appleton.

Lucy was born on June 11, 1930, in Appleton to the late Joseph and Florence (Thompson) Theyel. On October 6, 1953, she married Wence Vanden Hogen who preceded her in death on June 5, 1979. Lucy married Roger Vanden Heuvel on April 24, 1982 who preceded her in death on June 26, 2013.

Lucy was a member of Holy Spirit in Kimberly. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golf, crocheting, and reading. She loved her Wisconsin Teams; the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. She also enjoyed visiting up North. Most of all, Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it be a holiday gathering or a sleep over with her grandchildren.

Lucy will be dearly missed by her four children: Jeffrey (Vivian) Vanden Hogen, Michael (Ann) Vanden Hogen, Jo Ann (Michael) Delano, Donald (Linda) Vanden Hogen; step children: Tom (Ellen) Vanden Heuvel, Tim (Annette) Vanden Heuvel, Jill (John) Evers, David (Jennifer) Vanden Heuvel; grandchildren: Joseph (Miranda) Delano, Amy Lynn (Jon) Sanger, Cami (Gary) Penberthy, Lisa Vanden Hogen, Matthew (Allison) Vanden Hogen, Amanda Delano, Travis Vanden Hogen, Kayla (Eric) Schwartz, Richard (Lynn) Delano, Michelle (Greg) Kring, Bryan (Angie) Jahner, Kelly (Dennis) Mann, Tana and Colton Vanden Heuvel, Haley Evers, Cori Lang and Cassie Vanden Heuvel; twenty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Pat (Clarence) Kilsdonk, Janice Vanden Heuvel; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with her parents and husbands, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister: Cecilia and brother-in-law Bill Hamilton; brother: Joseph and sister-in-law Wanda Theyel; great grandson: Ayden Vanden Hogen; step son: Jeff Vanden Heuvel; two sisters-in-law: Gertrude and brother-in-law Ralph Bloy and Shirley Vanden Heuvel; two brother-in-laws: Martin and sister-in-law Ceil Vanden Hogen and Jerome Vanden Heuvel; and nephew: Donald Vanden Hogen.

The Funeral Liturgy for Lucy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Holy Spirit Parish — Kimberly Site, 600 East Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 am. until the time of Mass. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
