Lucy Ellen Terrill

April 5, 1919 — September 25, 2017

Lucy Ellen Terrill (Touhey), 98 years, passed away September 25, 2017 at Thedacare Regional Medical Center- Appleton. She was born April 5, 1919 to her parents John F. and Lucy E. Touhey (Clark) in Hume, Illinois. Her family moved to Clinton, Indiana where she was a graduate of Clinton High School. Lucy continued her education at Indiana State Teachers College and obtained her teaching certificate. She worked in the Buckley, Illinois school district where she met the love of her life. On June 10, 1943 Edward J. and Lucy E. Terrill were married. They settled in Greenfield, Wisconsin where they raised their three children. Lucy worked as a school librarian in the Greenfield School District for 23 years.

Lucy and Ed enjoyed traveling throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Lucy also enjoyed candle making in her spare time. She was an active member of WEAC, as well as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After enjoying 17 years of retirement in Casa Grande, Arizona, Lucy and Ed returned to Wisconsin, settling at the Heritage in Appleton.

Lucy will be missed by her daughters Patricia (Kevin) Gibney and Janis (Lance) Larson, daughter-in-law Christine Terrill, grandchildren Peter (Jill) Terrill, Elizabeth (Clarke) Camper, Erin Pritchard, John Pritchard, Katherine Pritchard, and Leif (Sara) Larson, 9 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Dorothy (Bill) Edmonds, a son Richard Terrill, a grandson Kyle Larson, and a great-granddaughter Jaden Pritchard.

Private services were held.

Memorials in Lucy’s name may be made to the Hearing Loss Association of America.
