Lucille Marino, age 89, Appleton, died March 29, 2005 following a short illness. Lucille was born on August 1, 1915, in Sobieski, WI to the late John and Walney Jendrzejak. Lucille married John Marino on February 15, 1942 in Chicago. He preceded her in death July 19, 1997. During her life in Chicago, she was employed in a variety of positions including the Chicago Public Schools. John and Lucille moved to Appleton in 1970 where she was employed with Appleton Public Schools. She was a sensitive and unselfish caregiver throughout her life. Her strength came from her strong faith to the Lord, which she expressed through her dedication to her church and family. She was a wonderful mother to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dee (Chuck) Desten, Appleton; Paul (Collette Arkens) Marino, Green Bay; grandchildren Gary (Paula) Desten, Appleton; Tammy (Bryon) La Borde, Appleton; Lori (Eric) Tischendorf, Antigo; John Marino, Minneapolis; Kenton Marino, St. Paul; and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Alma (Harvey) Rowell, Abrams and sister-in-law Rachel Jendrzejak, Appleton.

Her husband John Marino, one sister Helen and four brothers Ed, Stanley, John and Leo preceded Lucille in death.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2005, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Morrison Street and Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, April 3, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Franciscan Care and Affinity Hospice for their continued care. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Maija for her love and spiritual guidance.

A memorial fund in Lucille’s name is being established.
