Age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 30, 2002 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute following a short illness. She was born on June 26, 1915 in Appleton the daughter of the late Charles and Christine Wettengel. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1934. In 1940 Lucille married Sylvan Massonet and he passed away in July of 1951. She operated the elevator in the Zuelke Building for many years retiring in June of 1980, and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren: Bill (Jean) Massonet and their children John Massonet all of Appleton, Jackie (Nick) Hafeman, and Jenny (Steve) Nackers all of Greenville; Jim (Sandy) Massonet of New London and their children Jim Massonet of Jacksonville Florida, Jesse (Sara) Massonet of Kimberly and Melissa Meyer of New London; Barb (Harry) Meyer and their children Lisa and her special friend Robert Stanley all of Appleton, Mike (Joliene) Meyer, Brian (Lessie) Meyer, and Scott Meyer all of Appleton; and a daughter-in-law Patt Massonet of Appleton and her children Julie Massonet of Appleton, and Mark Massonet of Menasha; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Richard in infancy, her son Bob, two brothers and one sister.

The Memorial Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 10:30 AM at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH 410 West Lawrence Street in Appleton with the Rev. John Holly officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
