Lorna J. Arndt

March 4, 1961 — November 23, 2004

Age 43, was called to her Lord’s arms unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Lorna was born in Neenah on March 4, 1961, the daughter of Edith (nee Bruss) Arndt and the late Kenneth Arndt. Lorna was a 1979 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School and a 1981 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College. Most of her working years were spent with the K-Mart Corporation, working first in Kimberly, and later in Antigo and Grand Chute. Most recently, Lorna was employed as the Office Coordinator at the Appleton West Gordman’s store. She was a faithful and active member of Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church where she had served as recording secretary for the School Board, co-chaired the Altar Guild with her sister Barb, volunteered time in the school classrooms and was a member of the LWMS. Lorna was an active reader, gardener, and enjoyed golf and football, as well as attending her nieces’ and nephews’ school activities.

Survivors include her mother: Edith Arndt of Appleton; four sisters: Debra Arndt of Appleton, Barbara Arndt of Appleton, Sandra Arndt of Courtland, Minnesota, and Paula (Timothy) Phelps of Ann Arbor, Michigan and their children Kristin, Ryan, and Rachel; two brothers: Timothy (Deborah) Arndt of Combined Locks and their children Timothy, Thomas, Michael, Karen, and Curtiss; and William (Joanie) Arndt of Palos Heights, Illinois and their children Christopher, Bethany, Joshua, Benjamin, and Zachary. Lorna is further survived by several aunts and uncles: Dorothy Kohl of Glendale, Arizona and her family, Betty Arndt of Menasha, Ronald (Judy) Arndt of Menasha and their family, Dallas (Marilyn) Arndt of Menasha and their family, as well as the Tesch cousins, who are the children of the late Donna and Harold Tesch. Also surviving is Lorna’s Godmother: Joan Ing, as well as many dear friends at work and at church. Lorna was preceded in death by her father Kenneth in 1999, an uncle John Kohl, and an aunt Donna (Harold) Tesch.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 W. Seymour Street in Appleton with Rev. Dennis W. Belter officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 8 PM and again Saturday at the church from 10 AM until the hour of the service. The family has established a memorial fund in Lorna’s name for the Riverview Ev. Lutheran Building Fund.
