Loretta Jaeckels

Loretta Jaeckels of Tucker, Georgia, age 83, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who passed away peacefully on September 25, 2017. She was born the daughter of cheese makers on December 3, 1933 to Earl and Myrtle Otto of New London, Wisconsin. Loretta graduated from high school, married her high school sweetheart and was the first in her family to move away from home as an Army wife, living in New Jersey then Washington. She moved back to Wisconsin to raise her family, then ultimately choosing to remain in Atlanta, Georgia with her daughter after her divorce. Transplanted to the south, she remained a Wisconsin girl loving cheese, brats and beer all her life.

Loretta’s passions¬†in life were her family, her church and her work. She cherished her time with family and friends.¬†She was a tireless collector and distributor of family photographs¬†and loved to reminisce and share¬†family¬†stories.¬†She traveled back to¬†Wisconsin¬†frequently and¬†remained close¬†to her mother, twin sister, Lorraine Parker and her brother Vernon Otto and their families.¬†Loretta’s devotion¬†to Rock of Ages Church¬†and her Christian principles guided her life.¬†She¬†was proud of her professional accomplishments as an oil colorist, executive secretary,¬†office manager and medical transcriptionist. Her work brought her purpose¬†and as a mentor, she relished helping new employees.

Loretta will be deeply missed by her three loving children: David (Karen) Jaeckels of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; James (Nancy) Jaeckels of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ann (Tom) Cain of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren: Erin (Troy) Bolden, Emily Cain, Harrison Cain, Mikaela Jaeckels and Charles Jaeckels; a new great-granddaughter: Lane Bolden; a brother: Vernon (Dorothy) Otto of Phoenix, Arizona; special friend of the family: Sieglinde (Tom) Madl-Stevens and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lorretta was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lorraine Parker (2011) and her parents. All she ever wanted was for her family to be happy and this family has an abundance of joy. Her wish has come true and she will be in our hearts forever.

The visitation for Loretta will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton with a memorial service from 2:30-3:00 pm by Pastor Jim Rand.
