Loren Perry Roos

August 24, 2004 — March 16, 2016

Loren Perry Roos – Loren passed away at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin – Milwaukee on March 16, 2016 after valiantly fighting injuries stemming from bronchial bleeding a week earlier. She was 11 years old.
Loren was born August 24, 2004 at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the third child of four to Mathew and Kelly Roos. She heroically withstood the first of three open heart surgeries before she was 10 days old to treat hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Doctors and nurses marveled at her will power, courage, and determination to overcome several traumatic incidents related to her condition by the age of 10. Loren received a heart transplant on July 9, 2015 and had an unbelievably successful recovery and finally was able to enjoy life with her peers. She was a true super hero.
Loren enjoyed singing, swinging at the park, visiting the zoo, and was an avid fan of Batman. She most enjoyed spending time with her aunt, uncle, and second cousins. She will be remembered for her strong will, courage, joyful demeanor, wonderful smile, and brilliant imagination. She was a very special girl and touched many, many lives while she was with us. She is proof that miracles are real.
She is survived by her parents: Mathew and Kelly Roos; siblings: Anmarie, Danielle, and Andrew Roos; grandmother, Joy Roos, aunt, Elizabeth Weingarten; uncle, David Roos; and numerous cousins.
Loren was preceded in death by grandparents: Merlin Roos and Larry and Anita McDonough.
The Funeral Service for Loren will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Road in Neenah with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given in memory of Loren to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Very special heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and medical technicians of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin both in Milwaukee and Neenah that allowed Loren 11 years of life and to the staff of Butte Des Morts Elementary School in Menasha for all the special needs work to incorporate her with her classmates. We are also very grateful to the City of Menasha Police Department to arrange for Loren to actually meet Batman in person last fall.
