FUERST, LOIS H. “L”

Lois Fuerst, age 67, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011. She was born on September 1, 1944 in Ripon, the daughter of the late Harley and Viola (Boelke) Harke. Lois graduated from Ripon High School. On June 1, 1963, she married Thomas Fuerst at Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon. Lois worked at Gardan Packaging in Hortonville for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her cousin, LuAnne, gardening and going to her children and grandchildren's sporting events. “L” also was an avid Packer fan .

She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Thomas Fuerst; children: Tracy Fuerst-Mack, Appleton and Greg (Lesley) Fuerst, New London; grandchildren: Luke, Jason and Nathan Mack; Blake and Brooklyn Fuerst; step-grandson: Brendton Mack; sister: Gail Baker, Buffalo, Wyoming and sister-in-law: Bonnie (Larry) Awve, New Mexico. Lois is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kara Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alma and Ervin Fuerst and brother-in-law, Harlan Fuerst.

The funeral service for Lois will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue, Appleton. Rev. Joel Zank will be officiating. Burial will take place at Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
