Lois E. Hibbard, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. She was born on July 13, 1926 to the late John and Ruth (Blossom) Heironimus in Richmond, Indiana.
She attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with high honors with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1948. During her junior year at the University of Wisconsin she was a member of the Phi Betta Kappa fraternity. After graduation Lois was employed as a pychometrist for Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.
Lois married the love of her life, Frank Hibbard, on July 3, 1949 at the First Congregational Church in Madison, Wisconsin. Together they were blessed with their only child, Valerie. Lois eventually made the life changing decision to be a stay-at-home mother and care for her family.
Lois and Frank shared a passion for bird watching. Together they watched birds for the Nature Conservatory and the National Audubon Society. In her own free time she enjoyed puzzles, reading, gardening and just about anything that involved the outdoors. Lois was also a Pink Lady and member to several book clubs.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Valerie Bayer; her two grandsons, Joseph and Daniel Bayer and two dear friends, Loralie Knaack and Paul Bayer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and her brother, Mark.
The memorial service for Lois will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held on Friday starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lois's name. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
