Lois Bressers

May 20, 1928 — February 13, 2015

Lois Bressers, age 86, of Appleton, lost her battle with cancer and was carried to heaven in the arms of Angels on Friday, February 13, 2015. Lois was born in Appleton on May 20, 1928, daughter of the late Leonard and Orpha (Wilson) Hanstedt. On January 15, 1949, she married the love of her life, Vincent Bressers, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Vincent preceded her in death in 2013 and they are now together forever. Over the years, they enjoyed couples' league bowling at Sabre Lanes, occasional card games with close friends, family vacations at Roberts Lake, golfing, and in later years loved spending winters in Florida.

Lois is survived by five loving children, Jim (Betty) Bressers of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Mark (Diana Denzer) Bressers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Nancy (Sam) Edwards of Appleton; Diane Bressers of Appleton; and Sandy Bressers of Plainfield, Illinois. She is further survived by her thirteen grandchildren: Matthew (Chelsa) Bressers and Michael Bressers; Alan (Jen) Bressers, Scott Bressers, and Cathy Bressers; Jason (Leah) Islinger, Kelly (Grant) Pelky, and Jeremy Edwards; Michael Hoks, Jr., Adam Hoks, and Jennifer Hoks; Taylor Weyenberg and Cassie Weyenberg; nine great-grandchildren; her brother Leonard Hanstedt of Appleton, her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bressers and close friend Sandy II Benson). Lois was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Al (Bev)Hanstedt and her sister-in-law Joyce Hanstedt.

Lois loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed working at H.C. Pranges and Younkers. Her heart was touched by everyone she was blessed to have met and known. Lois was dedicated to volunteering at St. Bernadette Catholic Church and School. She was an amazing seamstress, sharing her talents by teaching the children at St. Bernadette School and by making personal gifts for family and friends. She will be forever remembered for her Swedish tea-rings, homemade pizza and beautiful handmade table runners.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at NOON on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton, Wisconsin, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Lois sends a special Thank You to her family, friends, doctors, nurses and everyone that helped her through her life's journey.

Please say a prayer for our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She is praying for all of us.
