Lisa Lynn Berge

March 12, 1972 — May 27, 2014

Lisa (Fulcer) Berge, age 42 of Appleton, Wisconsin, was called to her eternal home on May 27, 2014. She was born on March 12, 1972 to Jack and Darlene (Wenzel) Fulcer, and was an older sister to her brother, Ryan Fulcer. Lisa graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School and the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She was a talented graphic designer and artist.

Lisa married the love of her life, Richard L. Berge, on September 12, 1998. She loved how Rick always made her laugh. Rick and Lisa enjoyed remodeling their home, having cook-outs, and gardening. They became parents on September 6, 2006, to Isabelle Tatiana Berge, in Bogota, Columbia, and Lisa found her GREATEST joy in life – motherhood. Lisa and Isabelle enjoyed working on art projects and cooking together.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband: Rick Berge and their darling daughter Isabelle; her parents: Jack (Darlene) Fulcer; her brother: Ryan (Heather) Fulcer; by Rick's parents: William (Marie) Berge; and by Rick's siblings: Christopher (Beth) Berge, Michael (Linda) Berge, and Angela Berge. Auntie Lisa will also be missed by all of her nieces and nephews: Azlyn Fulcer, Marissa Fisher, Megan Berge, Melanie Berge, Madelyn Berge, Ethan Dercks, Ezekiel Berge, Evelyn Stacey, and Abigail Stacey. She will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A Christian Memorial service for Lisa will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 W. Seymour Street in Appleton, with Rev. Dennis W. Belter officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Lisa's name has been established at Fox Communities Credit Union.

The family would like to thank the very special caregivers who devoted themselves to Lisa over past eight years. They include Dr. Goggins, nurse practitioners Jennifer and Sara, the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, the 4th Floor West Oncology staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Affinity Hospice, and Pastor Dennis Belter for all that you have done for us. We will never forget your kindness and compassion.

THE WARRIOR

You just wanted the simple life, to be a mother and a wife.

God had different plans for you, you had to become a warrior to get through.

The lessons you have taught are great: to be brave against the beast that will seal your fate.

And when that final breath is taken in agony, you will be honored as a warrior you never wanted to be.

Written by Richard L. Berge, for his dear wife, Lisa.
