Linda S Banik

January 11, 1957 — December 18, 2015

Linda S. Banik, age 58, of Neenah, passed away after a courageous five year battle with breast cancer on Friday, December 18, 2015. She was born on January 11, 1957 in Northwood, Iowa to Carlyle and Nora (Sumner) Fedge.
After high school she attended Mankato State University where she earned her degree in education. During her enrollment there she also met the love of her life, David. Linda and David where married on August 11, 1979 at first Lutheran Church in Northwood, Iowa. Together they were blessed with their two children, Megan and Eric.
Linda spent her early years teaching high school but eventually she made the life changing decision to stay home and raise her children. She kept busy attending all her children's events: cross country meets, band concerts and soccer games and practices. She was also a wonderful baker. Linda made a variety of cookies, bars and cakes. On her children's birthdays there was to be the expected homemade birthday cake. Linda and David enjoyed their travels together some of their favorite destinations where the Smoky Mountains and the Outer Banks. As a family their favorite vacations where those spent at Lake Tahoe in California, San Francisco, Clearwater Beach and Disney.
Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years in marriage, David; her two loving children, Megan and Eric; her sister, Barbara ( Wayne) Trenhaile and her mother-in-law, Viola Banik. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and her furry friend, Willie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her aunt, Gladys (George) Mielke; her uncles, Lloyd (Doris) Fedge and Archie (Alcene) Fedge and her father-in-law, Arnold Banik.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 12:00 pm at OUR SAVIORS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 809 South Commercial Street. A time of visitation will be held on Monday starting at 10:00 am until the time of the memorial service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, bcrf@bcrfcure.org.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Theda Care at Home, Cherry Meadows, Appleton Medical Center's Oncology floor, Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology and The Neuroscience Group for the wonderful care given to Linda and her family.
