Lillian May Atkinson

Lillian Atkinson, 77, of Appleton passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Brewster Village.

Lillian was born on November 26, 1933 to Even and Ida Bodshaug in Milwaukee. On June 15, 1957 she married Clyde “Bud” Atkinson Jr. in Milwaukee. She was a loving wife and mother and devoted her life to her family. She also liked to bowl and was on many leagues throughout her life. Lillian liked to watch sports and was an avid Packers, Braves and Brewers fan. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Lillian is survived by three children; Michael (Renee) Atkinson, of Appleton, David (Debra) Hamilton of Stoughton, and Linda (Jim) Lardinois of Neenah, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Erickson, four grandchildren; Ryan Kough of Duluth, MN, Amanda Holt of Oshkosh, and Marc and Doug Atkinson of Duluth, two great grandchildren; Dominique Wedde and Alexis Holt, of Oshkosh. Lillian is further survived by her brothers; Paul Bodshaug and Richard (Rita) Bodshaug and a sister, Jackie (Tom) Webb, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Bruce and brothers and sisters; Earl Bodshaug, Stella (John) Gutowski, Arlene (Lyle) Quick, Ray (Gladys) Bodshaug, and Rose Crouch.

A funeral service for Lillian will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME (537 N. Superior St.) with Rev. Martin Koeller officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brewster Village for their exceptional care and expression of compassion for Lil.
