Lila Huberty

Lila Huberty, age 104, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Lila was born in Appleton on October 25, 1912 to the late Henry and Clara (Bartmann) Locksmith, she had two sister, Iva and Cleo, both of whom are deceased. She earned her Bachelor's degree at Lawrence University, then went on to earn her Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. On June 20, 1969 Lila married Francis Huberty in Appleton. She taught French and Spanish for 43 years before her retirement from UW Fox Valley in 1987, during that time she received numerous awards in recognition of her contributions to the community and the educational system. Lila was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton.

Lila is survived by her nephew, Lee (Roberta) Huberty of Bonita Springs, Fl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis.

Lila will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton next to her husband. Memorials may directed to a charity of your choosing in Lila's name.
