DeRidder, Lester K.

Lester K. DeRidder, age 71, formerly of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at home in Appleton. Les was born January 25, 1933, in Milwaukee, to the late Christian and Bernice (Burns) DeRidder. He married Carol Larson on June 8, 1957; she preceded him in death on April 15, 1995. He served with the U. S Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Les worked for Yale Materials Handling, of Green Bay, as the Internal Sales Coordinator and Rental Manager until his full retirement in March 1998. He looked forward to wintering in Arizona, playing golf with his friends and spending time with his family and his cat, Scamper. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Cody Mares, Appleton; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Marilyn DeRidder, Anaheim Hills, CA; six grandchildren, Brent, Jeffrey and Kaylin Mares, Jillian, David, Jr. and Branden DeRidder; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy and Erna DeRidder, Sussex, WI; Chuck DeRidder, Rathdrum, ID; a sister-in-law, Sandra (Roger) Anick, Pewaukee; a brother-in-law, Jack (Ann) Pinkerton, Linden, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ann DeRidder. The date and time of a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Cemetery, Green Bay. Memorial funds have been established for the TherdaCare at Home Hospice and the Fox Valley Humane Society.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the compassionate care given to Les over the past several weeks, and to the family and friends, especially to those in Mesa, AZ, who have been so supportive during Les’s illness.
