Age 21, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, July 20, 2003, at her home. She was born October 3, 1981, to Robert N. and LuAnn M. (Cartwright) Starner, in Appleton and was an area resident all of her life. Leslie graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 2000 and was presently a student at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she had just completed her junior year. Leslie was a member of the tennis squad and the band while in high school and was on the staff of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh newspaper, TheTitan. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Greenville. Survivors include her parents; a brother, Joshua Starner, Indianapolis; her maternal grandparents, Melvin and Donna Cartwright, Greenville; her paternal grandparents, Robert F. and Ruth Starner, Hoffman, MN; six uncles, James and Tammy Cartwright, Clintonville; Alan and Julie Cartwright, Greenville; Dennis and Joanna Starner, Mankato, MN; David and Cheryl Starner, Hoffman, MN; John and Debbie Starner, Hoffman, MN; Mark and Cindy Starner, Hoffman, MN; an aunt, Marj Starner, Woodbury, MN; cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Leslie will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday July 23, 2003, at IMMANUEL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, corner of School and Julius Roads, with Reverend David Hussman and Reverend Timothy Kolb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 pm, Tuesday and on Wednesday, at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund will be established.
