“LEN”

Leonard P. “Len” Beschta, age 87, of Appleton, died on Saturday, February 26, 2005. Len was born on April 29, 1917, in Appleton, to the late Matt and Helen (Seif) Beschta. He married Olive Armitage on October 16, 1937, in Appleton; she preceded him in death on January 5, 1991. Len enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, and especially telling stories and jokes. He was employed at Fox Tractor Company from 1941 until his retirement in 1978. Survivors include his son, Richard (Dorothy) Beschta, Appleton, and their sons, Jeff Beschta, Darboy, Greg (Pam) Beschta, Appleton, and Brad (friend Lisa), Little Chute; his brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Eleanor Armitage Beschta, Appleton and his sisters, Beatrice Schuh, Oshkosh, and Helen Casay, Appleton; his brothers-in-law, Donald (Lois) Armitage, Wesley (Jean) Armitage, and Merlin (Susan) Armitage; his sisters-in-law, Ella Armitage and Gladys Armitage; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Willard (Lucille) Beschta; his infant brother and sister; and his brothers-in-law, Roy Casey, Frank Schuh, Calvin (Gladys) Armitage, Rodney (Henrietta) Armitage and Harry Armitage. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Fr. Gerald Falk and to Len’s neighbors for all their support and help. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
