Leona Woods

Leona Woods, 87, died at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute, where she had resided since 1999. The daughter of Frank and Matilda Portman, Leona married Michael Woods in 1939. She was a very devoted wife and homemaker during their 53-year marriage. Leona worked at Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton for 20 years.

Leona is survived by a son, Robert Woods (Pat), Sun City West, Arizona; two grandchildren, Mary Lou Roberts (Gerald), Milwaukee and J.R. Woods, Oak Creek; and a brother, Joseph Portmann, Kaukauna; plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

The funeral liturgy for Leona will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 3, 2010 at ST. JOHN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 Pine Street, Little Chute with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Stockbridge. The visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of mass. The family thanks the entire nursing staff at Parkside Care Center, Dr. Jack Meyer, St. John Catholic Church and Father Larry Canavera.
