ROGERS, LEONA O.

Leona Ely Rogers, 101, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Appleton Health Care Center. She was born on August 9, 1908 to the late Emma (Krohn) and Leo Joseph Ely. Leona was a life long resident of the Appleton area.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Schroeder of Hayward, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Rogers, son Richard E. Rogers, son-in-law Carlton Schroeder, a grandson and great-granddaughter.

The private committal service for Leona will be held at Highland Memorial Park. A celebration of Leona's life will take place at a later date.

Mother- May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
until we meet again, May God hold you
in the palm of His hand.

She was a beautiful lady and died with dignity.
