Louise Kesting left a message on December 24, 2009:
Dear Carol and Family, Leona was a very special person: quiet, smiling, beautiful on the inside and outside. I will miss visiting with her as part of the Befriend A Residence program at the nursing home. I would bring her flowers from our garden. This spring and summer I will look at those beautiful flowers and remember a beautiful person. Sincerely, Louise Kesting, Appleton, WI

I took care of Leona briefly at the nursing home. I remember her fondly as she had a great sense of humor when she was feeling well. She was a strong lady whom I miss taking care of. I am so glad that she was able to celebrate 101 years!

Anne Jacobs Helgeson left a message on December 21, 2009:
I shall be praying for Love.(Luv) I am not sure how she spelt her name. How wonderful that she lived to celebrate her 101st birthday. My Dad enjoyed the party and visiting. I am one of Walter and Amy Jacobs children - a grand niece of Aunt Emma. I remember Love as a lovely lady who we would see at some gatherings, but especially when she came to visit my Granny (Adella)when she lived with us in Green Bay. May God grant her Peace in His loving Arms for all of eternity. Anne Helgeson
