Leona E. Asman, age 89, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at Oak Ridge Gardens, Menasha, on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Leone was born on April 18, 1922, in the Town of Cicero, to the late Oscar and Eleanor (Meyer) Kettner. Leone was very close to her cousins, relatives and many friends. She was a long time resident of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes. Leone was retired as a Medical Records Technician at LaSalle Clinic. Prior to that, she was employed by Dr. Claypool, whom she highly respected. Leone also dedicated time to teaching Sunday School during the 60's and 70's at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Leone was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her son, Derk Asman; her daughter, Becky Kauth; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tony Kauth; and her former son-in-law, Joe Kauth. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Vick and their son, Gary; and her second husband, Norman Asman. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri-County Chapel, Menasha, with Rev. Dee Sim officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Oak Ridge Gardens for their loving care and especially to her roommate, Gert. A memorial has been established in her name.
