I had the privilege of working with Leon at Poyry during the final years prior to his retirement. His quiet dedication, competence and wealth of knowledge were an example to everyone. It is a shame that he didn't get to spend more time enjoying a well deserved retirement. He is in a good place now, but I know his family and friends will miss him dearly.

Cheryl and family, I didn't really know Leon, but I do know what it means to lose your soul mate. I also know that "from a child you have known the Holy Scriptures." Those Scriptures teach of the Resurrection to Life Eternal in the presence of Our Good Shepherd, the Lamb of God. Your dear husband is safe at home now. Led by angels to the shore Met by those who've gone before; Drawn by Christ, who waits His own; God be praised! I'm safe at Home! I know that God's Word, your friends and your Church family will help you get through this time. The hills and valleys in life's span are in my Heavenly Father's plan; By grace I'm safe in Jesus' hand, and He is in control! Love and blessings, Marietta Paap

Cheryl and family, Our deepest condolences. While your loss is real, so is heaven and Leon's faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, was rock solid. Christ is the gate to heaven and Leon is now enjoying face to face fellowship with THE GATE. We are sorry that we cannot attend the funeral. We are in Florida where Dave is doing accreditation work visiting various college locations. May God give you peace and strength knowing that Leon entered through the GATE to be with the GATE.

I had the great pleasure and privilege of working with Leon as a fellow electrical engineer at Wartsila [later Valmet] beginning in 1984. Leon was just as helpful, outgoing and giving as an engineer as he was in all aspects of his life. As I was a new employee in 1984, Leon was especially helpful to me in getting me started on my first design project, as well as getting me off to a good start at my new situation by helping me get well oriented to department procedures. Leon was always ready to help -- he was a very good person and engineer, and I miss him.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
