Leah May Pelzer

July 12, 1936 — December 31, 2015

Leah May Pelzer, age 79, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in the Town of Menasha. On July 12, 1936, she was born in Spirit Falls, Wisconsin to the late Kelly and Almeda (Fields) Crowell. On April 30, 1977, Leah was married to Arthur Pelzer. Leah was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha as well as a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid. She enjoyed baking treats for her nieces and nephews. Leah had worked for Gunderson Cleaners for over 40 years retiring on June 30, 2002. After her retirement, she enjoyed adventures by taking day trips with her sisters whenever she could. In her later years, Leah loved to go on the day trips offered by the nursing home. They would go play Bingo at the casinos, see baseball games, and countless other activities.
Leah will be missed by her many brothers and sisters: Dugan (Mary) Crowell, Mina (James) Miller, Collen Crowell, Leo (Cindy) Crowell, Mike Crowell, Frank Crowell, Kathleen Weisenger, and Arthur (Audrey) Crowell; a sister-in-law, Anne Crowell; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Arlene; her brother, Patrick Crowell, her sister Pauline (Carl) Kangas; brother, Leland Crowell; sister-in-law, Marie Crowell; and a brother-in-law, Tom Weisenger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad Street in Menasha with Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will take place at Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery in Spirit, Wisconsin on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Oakridge Gardens for their loving care, kindness, and friendship given to Leah during her stay at the nursing home.
