LaVerne G. Sherry, age 83, died on Friday, June 24, 2005, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. LaVerne was born on November 4, 1921, in Appleton, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Hoffman) Gamsky. She married John Sherry on April 8, 1944; he preceded her in death in May of 1970. Survivors include her daughters, Ann (Ron) Hayes, Neenah; Ellen (Dave) Omitt, Menasha; Elizabeth (Tom) Vanderlois, Appleton; her sons, Joseph (Cheryl) Sherry, Neenah; William (Vicky) Sherry, Three Lakes, Wisconsin; Tom (Peg) Sherry, Eagle, Wisconsin; James (Kathy) Sherry, Eagle River, Wisconsin; and Timothy (Tammy) Sherry, Three Lakes, Wisconsin; her fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; her sister, Genevieve (Ed) Wetengel, Appleton; her brother, Ryan (Elizabeth) Hunt, California; her sister-in-law, Shirley Gamsky, Appleton; and her good friend Betty Culligan. Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at CHRIST THE ROCK COMMUNITY CHURCH, W6254 Highway 10-114, Menasha, with Rev. David Vande Hey officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Oakridge Garden for their loving care—“You guys rock.”
