Laverna A. Seif

Age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. Laverna was born in Appleton on July 5, 1915, daughter of the late William and Ella (Spaude) Krueger. In her early years, the family lived near Dale. After her marriage to Earl Seif in 1941, the couple relocated to Kaukauna, where they had been longtime members of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Laverna enjoyed sewing, baking, and sharing her treats with relatives and friends.

Survivors include a son: John (Sue) Seif of Green Bay; a daughter: Ann (James) Courtney of Janesville and their children Christopher (Carleen) Courtney, Michael Courtney and his fiancée Danielle Kingslien, Sarah (Jeremiah) Brooks, Marie (Dan) LaVelle, and Ryan Courtney;

A daughter: Mary (Merl) Sanderfoot of Kaukauna and their children Brian (Marni) Sanderfoot, Brad (Angie) Sanderfoot, B.J. (Beth) Sanderfoot, Brent Sanderfoot, and Briten (Mike) Frost;

A daughter: Jane (Robert) LaPlante of Kaukauna. Laverna is further survived by her six great-grandchildren: Augustus Courtney; Brant, Margaret, and Marin Sanderfoot; and Addison and Michaela Sanderfoot, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl in 1987, brothers Lester (Mary) Krueger and Marvin (Toni) Krueger, and sisters Dorothy (Clifford) Kottke, Erdine (Harry) Wege, and Mildred (Leslie) Eberhard.

The funeral liturgy for Laverna will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
