Laurine M King

October 4, 1911 — October 7, 2012

Laurine M. (Fischer) King, 101, passed to her heavenly home on October 7, 2012, at Living Tree Estates in Greenville. She was born on October 4, 1911, to the late Emil and Mary Fischer in New Hamburg, Ontario. Laurine attended Appleton High School and Outagamie Teacher's Training School, having taught in County District schools and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Appleton. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish. Laurine married Michael A. King on September 4, 1968. They had 33 loving years together. Laurine loved doing all sorts of needle work; quilting, sewing, embroidery and crocheting. She loved flowers, gardening, and spending time at the cottage. Laurine always had a helping hand when in need by her 12 loving brothers and sisters. She is survived by two step-children, Robert (Joan) King, Barrington, Illinois, and Barbara (Robert) Boyer, Green Bay; her brothers, Robert (Marian) Fischer, Appleton, and Donald Fischer, Marion, Wisconsin. Laurine is further survived by several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Hawkins; her second husband, Michael King; six brothers and four sisters; and her step-daughter, Eva Lou (Richard) Schmidt. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM. CAP. officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Appleton. A special thank you is offered to Living Trees Estates, which was her home. Thanks to Tom for cooking up her favorites and serving them with your smile. Jackie, thanks for your loving concern to always make her extra comfortable. The warm and loving staff took special care of Laurine, she always said, “It was a home where God was always with us.”

Dear Aunt Laurine,
You will be greatly missed. You were a sweet aunt to us and gave us lots of attention. We loved listening to your stories and we will miss your smile. You had a deep love for Jesus and now you are safely home in his arms.
