Laurie Rae (Coenen) Hillsberg

January 18, 1966 — May 31, 2012

Princess Peapod received her heavenly crown on Thursday, May 31, 2012, after a courageous battle against cancer. Laurie Rae was born on January 18, 1966, to James Ray and Barbara (Noel) Coenen. She was an Appleton area resident all her life and currently lived in Menasha. Laurie was employed at Plexus for over twenty years and then worked at Surface Mount Technology until the time of her illness.

Laurie loved picnics and blowing bubbles, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be especially missed by her loving son: Jesse Michael and Kayla (Roe) Hillsberg, New London; her caring mother: Barbara Coenen, Appleton; her brother and good friend: Michael James Coenen, Appleton; her special friend: Daniel McMahon, Menasha; best friends: Angie Greene and her sons; David Schmitting; and Travis Hafemann, “her other son”; aunts and uncles: Carol (Mike) Laux; Joan (Randy) Kiefer; Brian (Sherry) Noel; Donald Coenen; Gerald (Marilyn) Coenen; Roger (Gloria) Coenen; Judy (Richard Eichhorn) Coenen-Eichhorn; and many cousins.

Laurie was welcomed to Heaven by her father, James Coenen; grandparents: Ray and Ruby Coenen; Ray and Doris Noel; her aunt, Joann Coenen; cousins: Douglas and Steven Coenen.

The funeral service for Laurie will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Wichmann Funeral Home with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 pm until the time of service.

Princess, your smile lit up our lives for 46 years and you will be missed.
