I'm sending sympathys on behalf of the Hastings Cousins in Missouri. I'm a first cousin to Laura Ann and sorry to say we haven't been in touch for many years. Our mutual connection was with our Aunt Kathryn Smith before her death and now her son Wayne Smith has furnished the latest reporting of Laura Ann's death. It would have been a pleasure to know her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. May God Bless everyone.

Dear loved ones of Laura Ann's, I am a stranger to you, but I was Laura Ann's cousin. She was 3 years older than I and we were buddies while growing up. I remember spending time with Laura Ann when she lived with our grandmother Mary Hastings. At the time they lived in Jasper, Mo. and I lived with my parents on a farm near Golden City, Mo. Other times spent together was while they lived in Golden City, Mo. The last time I saw Laura Ann was when we had our first Hastings Reunion and she came to Missouri at that time. May God Bless each and all of her loved ones. Mary Gayle

Dearest Family and Friend's of Laura Ann, I am so sorry to hear of Laura Ann's passing. My heart goes out to you. Remember the good times and celebrate her life. I am a cousin of Laura Ann. My father, Richard, was a brother to her father, Pierce. I knew her through Aunt Kathryn (Hastings Smith). Thank you for notifying Wayne. I last saw Laura Ann when she came to Jasper, Mo. for Uncle Joe's (Smith) funeral. What a loving gesture that was.

To the Family: My Dad (Leonard Hastings, who was the son of Richard Hastings, who was the brother of Pierce Hastings, who was your Mom's Dad) was your Mom's cousin. Not sure what that makes us, except to say I feel sadness for your loss. There are many Hastings relatives out there and we are blessed with a few who keep us aware when things like this happen to one of us. Anyway, as I read your tribute to your Mother, I was moved by the obvious way that your Family was loved and cared for by her. God Bless and Peace, John Hastings
Melvin Hastings left a message on April 6, 2009:
Laura Ann was my only sister, and will be greatly missed. We enjoyed visiting her in Wisconsin, but those visits were too few, and far between. The last time we were together Laura Ann and Patty took us on a paddle wheel boat, and we followed that with a family gathering. I will always cherish those memories. With Love from your Brother, Melvin
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
