Ross Witherington left a message on April 6, 2009:
Kyle and I were the best of friends. I cared more for Kyle than anyone in the world, and I will never forget his way of cheering up everyone who came in contact with. Kyle wasn't just a fun person, he posessed the power to cheer anyone up. All of my fondest memories include him in some way, and I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life. Kyle was the closet thing I ever had to a brother. He was always there for me when I needed someone, he made me smile when no one else could, and there was never a bad time when he was by my side. I will never forget his smile, his voice, or the goofy way he laughed when he saw something funny. I pray he realizes how many people still love him even though he is gone. I will never have another friend who can make me smile and laugh the way he did. I loved him more than anyone, and throughout our friendship I made him remember that. I still love him and I know he is in heaven driving fast cars, and making all the other angels laugh the way he made me laugh. I miss him, and I know his spirit will always be in my heart wherever I go. Finally, my hopes go out to his parents, Kathy and Jim. He may not have always showed it, but he loved them and would never ask for anyone else to care for him the way he did. Kyle, I miss you, but you will always be remembered. You were the best friend I could ever have and someday we will see each other again.
Kate Thompson left a message on April 6, 2009:
The relationship that Kyle and I shared was the best a young person could hope for. I am truly grateful for every second that I was able to spend with him, for the beautiful relationship that we were able to share, and to the Strickler family for opening their home to me so many times under so many circumstances. I have never loved anyone more than I loved Kyle, and I am grateful for the comfort and compassion he showed me in return. I know that my whole life long, I will never, ever meet anyone who can make me laugh or feel so appreciated as he did. We will all miss Kyle's laugh and his gift to make us smile. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Kate
