Kenneth Winkler

Kenneth E. Winkler, 91, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012.

He was born to Arnold and Marie (Denzel) Winkler in Appleton on March 12, 1921. Ken married Dorothy (Sutheimer) on May 15, 1948. He served his country for 3 ½ years as a Gunners Mate 2nd class in the Coast Guard during WWII. Ken retired from Kimberly Clark after 42 years and was a member of KC's Quarter Century Club. He was a member of VFW Harvey Pierre Post # 2778 and lifetime member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and bowling, but most of all his wife and family.

Ken is survived by five children: Jim ( Joan ) Winkler, Nekoosa, Wisconsin; Linda (Bob) Prunuske, Mequon, Wisconsin; Diane (Craig) Peterman, Algoma, Wisconsin; Mark (Nancy) Winkler, Neenah, Wisconsin; Patti (John) Schaub, Marshfield, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; Sister Janice (Bill) Merkel, Appleton, Wisconsin; Sister-in-laws Phyllis (Glen) Hass, Appleton, Wisconsin and Marlene Winkler, Kimberly, Wisconsin; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded by his parents, wife and three brothers, Alan, Lester and Arvin.

The Christian Funeral Service for Kenneth Winkler will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at ST PAULS EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH (302 N Morrison Street). Friends may call Monday, April 8, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel 3212 S. Oneida Street, Appleton, Wisconsin and again at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
