Age 73, passed away at ThedaCare Residence at The Heritage on Friday, December 16, 2011. She was born in Laona on May 31, 1938, the daughter of the late Chester and Isabelle (Gilligan) Hanson. Kathy loved children and operated her own child daycare center. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, love of reading, and her pride in her family, especially her grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her children: Julie Peterson, Curtis (Trudy) Stiles, Bryan (Holly) Stiles and Kathy (Gary) Mitchell; grandchildren: Kyle (Michelle) Hussong, Cole Peterson, Cody Peterson, Heather (Alan) Carlson, Amber (fiancé, Ross Evers) Stiles, Adam (fiancee, Amber Moreno) Stiles, Ryan (Rhea) Stiles, Jared Mitchell and Noah Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Riley Hussong, Mackenzie and Isabella Carlson; Robert Jasper, Marcus and Jonathan Moreno, and Ethan Amante; sisters: Delores Baeb, Rosalie (Wayne) Olejniczak, Karen (Henry) Rankin, and Cindy (Ron) Kroll. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Hubert in 1988; and sister, Judy (Wayne) Coppersmith.

The memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Suring at a later date.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Tammela and the staff at St. Vincent Oncology for their wonderful care.

A memorial fund in Kathy's name is being established for ovarian cancer research.
