Karen Popovich

March 9, 1948 — May 31, 2020

Karen Popovich (Nee Nickolas), age 72, passed away on May 31st, 2020.

Karen was born to parents Nickolas Nickolas and Dorothy Nickolas in 1948. She graduated from Neenah High School and began working at Kimberly Clark. She took a few years off from work to stay home with her children before her second career in medical billing.

Karen married Stanford Popovich in 1972. Stanford was a business owner and they were happiest taking trips to sight-see and vacationing with their children.

Although she loved a lot of music from her high school days, she especially enjoyed songs with a good beat. Karen was a great cook, and also enjoyed Packer Sundays, playing Bingo, gardening, reading a good book, and doing puzzles and playing games. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

As a wife and mother, Karen was devoted to taking great care of her family. This is what she was best known for.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Stan, parents Nick and Dorothy, step-father Dale Ramich, mother-in-law Dorothy Popovich, brothers Nick and Jeff Nickolas, and sister-in-law Penny Popovich.

She is survived by her children Nicole Wiuff, Kevin Popovich, Andrew Popovich, and Jamie Popovich. Karen is also survived by her grandchildren Sydney Popovich, Marek Popovich, Averie Popovich, and Anna Popovich. She is further survived by her sisters, Lynn Jape and Patty Kunde (Jeff), sister-in-law Lana Zielinski (Richard), and many nieces and nephews. Karen will also be missed by her close friends.

Friends and family will be celebrating Karen’s life at a later date in the summer.
