Karen Liethen

Karen R. Liethen, age 78 of Appleton, died on August 4, 2017. Karen was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1938. She was a graduate of Birnamwood High School. Karen was a loving mother to her sons, Peter, Jeff and Tim. Karen was a very kind woman. When she wasn’t working she filled her days by doing volunteer work. She truly loved her children and helped them out whenever she felt they needed it. Karen lived a simple life and was happy. She was even smiling in the days preceding her death.

She is survived by children Peter M., Tim and Jeff (Ellen) Liethen. Her son Peter gave her two grandsons, Josh and Jeremy, who made her very happy. She is further survived by her siblings, Roy, Linda, Irene and Jan as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter, one brother Spike and her parents.

A gathering in celebration of Karen’s life will be on Saturday August 12, 2017 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Superior Street location in Appleton.
