Karen, Although our lives went separate ways since our days together at St. E's I will always cherish the good times we had... We had so many good times together that I miss; exchanging perennials, playing classical piano together, and just talking about anything that came to mind... I will always remember you as having a mischievous little chuckle under your breath... ~Marc.

Dear Schoenian Family, What an honor and great fun to have known Karen for as long/short of time as I have. She was pleasure to work with and to be around (St E’s and after when our paths would cross). She always had a big smile on her face, giggle on her lips, and a swing in her gait(distinct). God will have the advantage of having one of the best people I know of on his/her team, she will be missed down here on earth. Karen was always kind, warm, and was a consistent friend. I am proud I had the time I was given to get to know her and I regret not having taken more time to be more supportive to her while she was in Colony Oaks. I believe God’s house is fuller with her in it. I think as I am sitting here very still, I hear her singing; she had a good voice, and she knew all the words to so many songs (remarkable). I will miss her dearly. Jane (Boomer) Vanden Boom

I was so sad to hear the news of Karen's death. We had so many good times...walking back and forth to school, riding bikes,swimming,shopping...setting Mr.Schoenian's speed buzzer on his car so it would buzz when he drove us to BayShore Mall. We had so much fun together. I have been thinking of her a lot lately...then my friend sent me her obit...I am so sad. I live in Arizona so I can not make it to her service so here is a big hug for al of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember walking with Karen and Jane Bord (now Whitehurst) to Cumberland more than 40 years ago. What a sweet girl she was. It sounds like she grew up to be a caring woman. I am so sorry to hear of her passing--you are all in my thoughts. Mala (Das Gupta) Clancey

Dear Schoenian Family, I am so sorry to hear about Karen's passing. I had heard from my sister about her stroke. I cannot imagine what you all have been through! Your family and Karen were such a great memory of growing up in Whitefish Bay. Know that I am thinking about you all. Cynthia
