Joyce Mary (Theyel) Romnek, Menasha, Age 84, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 following a courageous battle with dementia.

The funeral mass for Joyce will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church (528 Second St., Menasha) with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday starting at 4:00 PM and concluding with a prayer vigil at 7:00 PM at Wichmann-Laemmrich Funeral Home (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha) and again at church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Oshkosh Humane Society (1925 Shelter Ct., Oshkosh, 54901) in Joyce’s name.

We are saddened to hear about Joyce's passing. It was so good seeing her at Ben's party over the summer. She was a wonderful lady who seemed to welcome us with open arms into her already large family, and who treated us as such. (Not to mention, she made rhubarb pies that were so good, you could eat them for breakfast and not even feel bad about it later...that is, if Dave didn't accidentally mow the rhubarb down!) To the entire Romnek family, our deepest sympathy and love.

The parish community of St. Mary and St. John the Baptist extends our heartfelt sympathy to Joyce’s family. May you feel the love of God through the prayers, thoughts, and love from the hearts of those who care and share in your time of sorrow. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Steve...Pat and I read of your Mom's death while we are down here in Florida. We never met your Mom, but by reading her obituary, all we can say is: "What a woman!" You, your brothers and sisters were honored to have her as your Mother. God Bless you all.
