Joyce always made her children's friends feel welcome. I enjoyed visits to the lake and to Sanibel Island with Martha and I'll never forget Joyce's generosity and gentle demeanor. She made me smile!

The very first day I met Joyce, I felt as if we had been friends forever. It was always wonderful to see her and chat with her. I don't believe she ever met a stranger. Through the years we exchanged cards and notes, to keep in touch. We would talk about our mutual grand-son, and I know he loved her very much. It was wonderful to get pictures of various family get-togethers, and how happy those must have made Joyce. I will miss her.

She nurtured a wonderful family and instilled love, passion, and laugher throughout all of your family. May God's peace be with all of you in the days ahead as you remember and cherish your mom's wonderful life. Take care.

Joyce had a way of connecting with everybody. If she chatted with you, you knew you were the most important person in her world at that minute. She was so loving and welcoming; I know she will be sorely missed. She raised a strong, loving family, and I'm glad my family got to become part of hers. I'll be wearing my beloved Packers headband on Sunday -- the one she knitted for me -- as my thoughts are with the family.
