Rich Beggs CHS-54 left a message on April 6, 2009:
This is very sad news indeed. Joyce was a wonderful classmate in CHS-1954. She was always happy and upbeat, and fun to be around. I also have many happy memories of her Dad's business, Barber's Sweet Shop, and still have a knick-knack that I remember buying for my own Mother about 1950. My condolences to Nancy and Tom. Joyce was a good person, and we will miss her.
Dorothy (Sinkewicz) Rea left a message on April 6, 2009:
Joyce's sunny disposition and constant sense of humor are my dominant memories of her in high school. She was dedicated to her flute playing, and I can picture her right now marching in the CHS band. Although I never saw her again after graduation, I thought of her often. She was one of those special people who leave us with the gift of indelible happy thoughts.

I enjoyed talking with Joyce the few times I met her at out class reunions. That is the only contact we had since graduation from CHS.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
Robert Karrow left a message on April 6, 2009:
To Miss Barber's loved ones: My mother-in-law in Appleton mentioned she had seen an obituary for Joyce Barber in the Post-Crescent. Miss Barber was my second and third grade teacher at the old Edison School in the late 50's, and also was my wife's third grade teacher. We both have good memories of the time we spent in Joyce's classroom, and wanted to let you all know that her memory will also stay alive in the minds of former students. Bob Karrow

You have my deepest sympathy. I remember when Joyce and I were kids and would play together (we were almost neighbors). She's with our Savior now and having a marvelous time!! God Bless, Nancy
Ken Walch left a message on April 6, 2009:
To Joyce's brother, Tom - Tom, I was so sad to hear that Joycy had passed away. Rich Beggs sent out an e-mail that I received just today. She was a very special person and these past several years I've been sorry that our paths have not crossed more often. There are many good memories I have of Joyce - with MYF, at your dad's sweet shop, and at school. On the few occacions I've seen Joyce in recent years I don't think I really stoped to tell her that she was a special person in my life and that I often thought of her and would send her one of those little mental messages that said I wish her well. The trouble with mental messages is that they never quite get to the person they're intended for. I remember her as one very sweet lady. My deepest condolances to you, Tom. Ken Walch

Nancy, Tom and other Family and Friends -- Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy. Joyce was part of our high school gang, and I always loved her. We spent many a happy hour in Barber's Sweet Shop. Since I'm a chocoholic, I could never understand how Mr. Barber and the family could make all that candy and not eat it. From the high school play to all the church projects we did, Joyce could always be counted upon to be there and to be happy. We all look forward to romping with her in heaven. God speed, Joyce.

To Ms. Berglund and family, My mom sent me Joyce's obituary from the Post Crescent . . . I'm so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories from grade school when Ms. Berglund and Ms. Barber were my teachers - the best teachers I ever had. When I was back in Appleton this summer for my 25th high school reunion, spent lots of time talking with others about the memories we have from our time with Joyce and Nancy at Edison! :) I'll never forget the field trips to your house and Skeezix! Someone mentioned their memory of roasting pumpkin seeds. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
