Joy Lingnowski, age 78, of Menasha, died Monday morning, December 6, 2004, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born July 8, 1926, to the late Charles and Ruby (Smith) Gambsky, in Menasha, where she was a resident all of her life. In her younger years, Joy enjoyed swimming and her horses. Joy married Richard V. Lingnowski on March 4, 1946. She also enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls, playing with her grandchildren, taking long car rides with her husband and vacationing in Florida. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha. Survivors include her husband, Richard V. Lingnowski, to whom she was married for 58 years; three children and their spouses, Richard and Mary Lingnowski, Menasha; Ruby and Oscar Herrera, Madison; Holly and Edward Willenbrink, Kimberly; seven grandchildren, Lisa Lingnowski, Lori (Blaire) Joas, Melinda Joy and Ruby Herrera, Joy, Tyler and Hope Willenbrink; a brother, Charles Gambsky, Menasha; a sister, Beth (Sam) Overton, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Robert Huelsbeck; six sisters-in-law, Irene (Joe) Rippl, Helen Schuh, Adeline Lingnowski, Celia Lingnowski, Shorty Gambsky and Eleanor Gambsky. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Huelsbeck; two brothers, Kenneth Gambsky and Fay Gambsky; four brothers-in-law, Edward (Alice) Lingnowski, Ambrose Lingnowski, Raymond Lingnowski and Merlin Schuh; one sister-in-law, Olive (Howard) Fritsch. The funeral liturgy for Joy will be held at 5:00 pm, Thursday, December 9, 2004, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 212 Appleton Street, Menasha, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Burial will be in St. Margaret Mary Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
