Joshua James Schubert

October 17, 1985 — June 19, 2015

Joshua James Schubert, age 29, was taken tragically from his family on Friday, June 19, 2015, following an accident. On October 17, 1985, Josh was born in Fridley, Minnesota to James M. and Kathy L. (Nordland) Schubert. He was a 2004 graduate of North Central High School in Manly, Iowa and then went on to North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa and obtained an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology in 2005. On July 7, 2007, he married the love of his life, Charity Grooms in Byron, Michigan and together they had three children. Josh was currently working as an Engineer for the Canadian National Railroad. He had a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and was very skilled working with his hands. He could build or fix anything. Josh loved Corvettes and finally was able to fulfill his dream of owning one, and her name was Bernadette. Josh was loved by many and was an incredible father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Josh will be missed by his loving wife, Charity and their three children: Michael “Booger”, 8, Trinity “Sissy”, 6, Anthony “Tony Bob”, 3; his parents: James “Jim” and Kathy Schubert; his sisters: Jennifer (Daniel) Bissell and Kathryn Schubert; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Greg and Jeanne Grooms; his brothers-in-law: Garrett (Terressa) Grooms, Jonathon (Kristy) Grooms, and Steven Grooms; and his nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his close circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Faith United Methodist Church, 1025 Tullar Road in Neenah with Rev. Timothy Albrecht officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, June 23, from 5:00-8:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home-Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee Street in Menasha. Visitation will again be on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the hour of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to a Traumatic Brain Injury Research Group in Josh's name.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Theda Clark ICU as well as the City of Menasha Police Department and the Town of Menasha Fire Department for all of their tender care and kindness during this tragedy.

They also want to thank all of their family and friends for the loving support and true friendship which is very much appreciated.

Josh will continue living in others due to his selfless act of organ donation. He is considered a “Super Hero” in the eyes of his children.
