Age 44, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2005. He was born in Kaukauna on January 10, 1961, son of Roger Braun and Margaret Buechel-Wilz. Roger preceded him in death in December 2004. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1979. Joseph was employed at Miller Masonry, D & E Construction and Spancrete. He currently worked at Appleton Coated in Combined Locks. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the family cabin near Waupaca. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved to travel to other states and Canada. Watching NASCAR was a favorite pastime, especially watching #17 take the checkered flag.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Jr. of Kaukauna; mother and stepfather, Margaret (Dick) Wilz of Arizona; Joseph Jr.’s mother, Patti Van De Wettering of Kaukauna; brothers: Pat (former spouse, Christie Adams) Braun of Kaukauna and their children Katie and Roger; and Mike Braun of Amherst; sister: Bernadette (Dave) Foster of Seymour and their children: Sean, Tyler and Bradley (Joseph Sr.’s godchild); and a friend since childhood, Bob Pomeroy of Philips, WI. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Roger and paternal grandparents: Peter (Carrie) Braun, and maternal grandparents: Florence (Albert) Buechel.

The memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
