Joseph E. Kennedy, age 47, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1965, in Terrace Bay, Ontario, Canada, the youngest child of the late Joseph and Mary Clare (Coughlin) Kennedy. Joe married Lisa Fournier on August 19, 1989, and they celebrated the birth of two children. In 2001, Joe and his family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin. Joe worked for the City of Appleton for ten years and coached hockey for both his children's teams. He loved fishing, playing the guitar, rebuilding motorcycles, and going for Harley rides. His greatest passion was his love for his wife and children.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 23 years: Lisa Kennedy; his wonderful children: Rebecca and Joseph; dear brothers and sisters: Jerry (Lori) Kennedy, Ken (Helle) Kennedy, Lynda Kennedy, Mary Jo (Guy) Mageau, Jimi (Ruth) Kennedy, Richard (Sui) Kennedy, Carol (Blair) Sandberg, and Dorothy Kennedy; mother and father-in-law: Ingrid and Raoul Fournier; sister-in-law: Karen (Gerry) Figliomeni; and brothers-in-law: Tom (Penny)Fournier, and Dan (Leslie) Fournier. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Patrick Kennedy.

The memorial mass for Joseph will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive in Appleton. Father Donald Zuleger will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
