John will
Always be remembered as 184! It was always a pleasure working in dispatch and having John on the street!!! His visits to the communications center would always make my day!! Heaven has another amazing angel!! 184
John was always respectful, in a quiet humble way, yet was able to accomplish much more than most in his years with the Appleton police. I got to know John when working part time as a Deputy Sheriff, and our meetings usually produced positive outcomes with the many unruly adolescents we encountered. I also had the pleasure of knowing John and Betty at church, where both were loved and respected. We will miss the work that John did, and will not forget the path he made for us all.
John was a great person to work with. He could always be counted on to back you up, when you needed help.
John was well liked by the Merchants on College Ave.
Betty and family,
I'm proud to have worked with John. He was a great guy and always found the good in people. We are all richer for having known and worked with him. Our prayers are with you.

John and I started the same year back in 1963 and
through the years I would tell he enjoyed being a
Police Officer and meeting people. John enjoyed walking the day beats, especially on Collage Ave
where he was at home with people and his big smile.Jane and family I offer my sincere
condolences.
Dear Betty,
Ed and I are in AZ and found out about John thru Beth at the PD. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to you. Ed said John was the most dedicated Beat Walker there ever was! You are very special to us Betty.

I have great memories of working with John. His laugh was infectious and a chat with him always brightened my day.
Both Donna and I enjoyed working with John. You and yours are in our thoughts and prayer.
What a great guy! He never seemed to have a bad day. Can anyone remember him without a smile on his face? A real "old school" cop with all the good things that means.
John was a gentle soul. He practiced Community Oriented Policing before it even had that moniker. I'm proud to be able to say I worked with him.
John will be sadly missed. I too, remember John, always with a smile and a greeting. No one who worked with John will forget his voice on the radio. God Bless you John. Prayers to you and your family.
John was a police officer when I was a community service officer at APD. I still recall the sound of him calling out his badge number "184." He was a very nice man, and he always seemed to have a positive attitude. My sincere condolences to his family.
John could always light up a room. He never had a bad day. John was the forerunner for community policing.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. I can still hear John on the radio saying 184, 10-4! So sad another good one is gone.
I, too, can still hear John on the radio. John will be remembered as a nice guy.... Just a genuine nice guy. He will be missed.

Betty and family; Jean and I send our sincere condolences. Each time anyone thinks of John, you have to smile. His character was one of always being a helper and he would give you the shirt off his back at any time. Many positive memories of our work years together at APD.
I can hear his voice. We are saddened by your families loss. He was a very kind man.
Thinking of you, Betty and your family. John was a wonderful man and now has his place with our dear Lord. So many wonderful memories of John and that is what we all remember! Bob too enjoyed the talks they had...he has mentioned it often.
Love and prayers,
Pat...Bob too
John was one of the first APD officers I met upon being hired. John was retiring the day I was sworn in. Many fun stories about John have been shared over the years. He will be missed.
Betty, We will all miss our dear friend, John...no doubt, he has lots of treasures awaiting him in heaven! What a gentle, kind and happy man - who brightened many a day!
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
