John F. Milis

December 11, 1926 — August 7, 2005

John Frank Milis, age 78, formerly of Kimberly, passed away on Sunday, August 7 2005 at Weyauwega Health Care Center. John was born on December 11, 1926 in Kimberly, son of the late Erick F. Milis and Eleanor E. (Buettner) Milis. As a young man, John was drafted into the United States Army on March 16, 1945. John served his county in Japan as a Military Policeman at the end of World War II. Following his military service, he returned to Kimberly to complete his high school education and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1947. John then started his career at Kimberly – Clark in Kimberly, where he worked until his retirement after forty one years in 1988. John was a resident of Kimberly his entire life.

John was a devoted and lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church in Kimberly and was also a regular visitor to the George Webb restaurant in Appleton. He also enjoyed many years at relaxing at his cottage on Shawano Lake.

John was preceded in death by his father Erick in 1966 and his mother Eleanor in 1999.

A special thank you to John’s cousins: Ted and Dolores Fisher; Dr. Donald Fischer; Tom Bozora; Tim and Sandy Weihing; Mike and Nancy Forrest; Jim and Janet Fischer; Dick and Dol Buettner, numerous other cousins, and his aunt Verona Owens, for taking such great care of John over the past two years.

Funeral services for John will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Virgil Hanson of Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.
