Age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2008. John was born on January 8, 1925 in New York, the son of the late John Frederick and Mary (Toohey) Hasenzahl. John served as a medic in World War II and was a world traveler who worked abroad for many years. John was a brilliant professional engineer and draftsman and also helped build some of the biggest Schlitz breweries in the U.S. John enjoyed spending time working on genealogy and photography. John was very proud of his children and expressed many times in his last months of life how he wanted each of his children to know how much he loved them and how happy he was with their success in life.

John is lovingly survived by his children: Dorothy Dolfi, Patricia Hasenzahl, John (Jacqueline) Hasenzahl, Cindy (Lawrence) Susienka, Ellen (Chuck) Reuter; grandchildren: Cary, Ryan, Breianna, Emily, Stephanie, Rachel, Carly, Kristen, Keeley, Jessica, Chuck, Ivie, Alexis; great-grandchildren: Shane, Darian and Marcus.

A private family service and committal will be held for John.
