John E. Reuter

June 22, 1916 — April 19, 2001

Age 84, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2001 at a local nursing home. John was born in Kaukauna on June 22, 1916, son of the late Edward and Marie (Porter) Reuter. While serving his country as a member of the United States Army, he married the former Phillipa Corbin in Pasadena, California on June 3, 1944. Phillipa preceded him in death on November 5, 1980. Many will remember John as being a letter carrier in Kaukauna for over twenty years.

John is survived by his daughter: Diane Trentlage of Little Chute; a son: Dale Reuter of Burlington, Wisconsin; six grandchildren: Julie Reuter, Laura Reuter, Yvonne (Joe) Poeschl, Robin Trentlage, Anthony (Paula) Trentlage, Katie Wendricks; four great-grandchildren: Chelsea Trentlage, Peyton Poeschl, Carley Van Gompel, and Jaccob Eichinger; a sister: Marie Busse of Kaukauna; and a sister-in-law: Gen Reuter of Kaukauna. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phillipa in 1980, a grandson Travis Trentlage, and his brother Fritz Reuter.

The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 23, 2001 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and again Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the liturgy.
