John A. Stack

February 7, 1965 — February 2, 2005

Stack, John
Menasha

John Stack passed away from this earth on 02.02.05; he now resides in our hearts and is eternally at rest. He died much too soon and much too young; Monday 02.07.05 would have marked his 40th birthday.

John is survived by his mother, Alice (Zuehlke) Stack; two brothers, Rick (Barbara) and Jim, both of Appleton; two sisters, Lynn(Allen)Rosenthal, Anchorage, Alaska, and Margaret Stack, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and four nieces, Katie, Sara and Laura Stack, and Mara Rosenthal. John was preceded in death by his beloved father, Richard.

John was a graduate of Appleton West High School. Upon graduation he studied at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned a degree in architecture. He was employed by the City of Chicago and later for a large engineering firm in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In more recent years John became a licensed insurance broker.

John's journey through life resulted in his making many friends. John was straight forward and engaging. He enjoyed the outdoors by hunting, fishing and wind surfing. There has been a genuine outpouring of concern, sympathy and prayers from many, many of John's friends which is a comfort to his family in knowing we are not alone in our sense of loss and utter grief.

An informal gathering of friends and family celebrating John's life will be held Wednesday, February 9th, 5:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. at the Bar, located at 2435 West Nordale Drive, Appleton. A memorial service will be held in April and a notice will be published in the Post Crescent, closer to the date of the service. A memorial fund has been established in John's name. Wichmann Funeral Home is assisting the family.

We stand on the seashore at the break of a new day,
His ship begins to move out and away,
The ocean and sky are blue and gray.
His ship now slips below the horizon as he leaves our gaze,
What was large and noble is no longer in view,
As we state "he is gone to be seen never-more",
Those on the other-side declare: "here he comes to be seen evermore."
