Jerry and Shelley Brouwer left a message on April 6, 2009:
Our Tante Sis has to have been one of the sweetest people that God put on our earth. Always ready to give, and never asked for a thing in return except your friendship. She will be missed by her family in Canada, and will always remain in our hearts. We have comfort knowing that her family members and friends in Kimberly are with her today. My mother Dien Brouwer is saddened today beyond words, her health does not allow travel from Holland. Part of the peace that you feel at Tante Sis's last Mass will be the prayers from Dien and her family.

A BEAUTIFUL woman - tante Sis. Having recently spoken to her, she told us that she was not afraid to die. She said that she was at peace and would "leave NOT ONE enemy behind". How very true that statement must be. Although Canada and the US seem close on a map - travel between the two is long. We know that Sis would understand that and we are grateful that she has had her friends and family with her to the end. Thank you all. Andy, Judy & Alaina Brouwer

Tante Zus (my Godmother), I have many happy childhood memories of summer visits to Canada by Tante Zus and Ome Sjef. Tante Zus was always happy and had a very strong character and never let anything get her down. Although I did not have much contact with Tante Zus since I moved to England, I loved her dearly and I will truly miss her. May she rest in peace. Ann, John, Jonathan and Angela Read

Tante zus was altijd vrolijk en opgewekt, zelfs toen ze kanker kreeg. Gelukkig heeft ze niet zo lang hoeven lijden. Rust zacht.
