Joan Pahl

May 5, 1936 — September 21, 2021

It is with deep sadness that the family of Joan (Reitzner) Pahl, born May 5, 1936, shares that she went to Heaven on September 21, 2021, after a seven-month illness. Those who grieve her passing include her loving husband of 37 years, Duane Pahl, as well as her children Lori Brost of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; Bob (Kathy) Brost of Neenah and their children Allyse (Steve) Panaro and Trevor (fiancé Jessie); and Shari (Eric) Schmidt of Sedro Wooley, Washington, and their children Terra Hoewisch (Ariana), Taylor (Brandi) Schmidt, and Colin (fiancé Alejandra). Kaden, Grayson, and Remington also survive their great-grandmother. Joanie will also be missed by her sister, Carla (Reitzner) Oudenhoven and brother, Chuck Reitzner and their families. Other relatives who will miss her humor and quick wit are Duane’s children Craig (Pam) Pahl and their children Ben and Ashley, Dean (Connie) Pahl and their daughter, Emma, as well as Duane’s siblings Bruce Pahl, Sharon (Bob) Hoffmann, and Joanne Hamilton. Additionally, Joan leaves behind seven cousins and many friends. Those who greeted her at Heaven’s door included her parents, Fran and Carl Reitzner, former husband Dale Brost, brother-in-law Denny Oudenhoven, sister-in-law Diane Reitzner, Duane’s parents, Ben and Marie Pahl, Duane’s daughter, Cari Pahl, and brothers-in-law Ron Pahl and Chuck Hamilton. No doubt Joan’s grandparents, cousins and many friends were also among those happy to see her.

Joan was the owner of Pahl Tax Service and regarded her many clients as personal friends. She was a dedicated volunteer caretaker and guardian for several residents at Brewster Village, all of whom were very special to her. Joan was a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church.

Per Joan’s request, a private family memorial service will be held and she will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park. If you wish, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her honor, but more important, hug those you love and be grateful for every day. All of us take comfort in knowing that Joanie is laughing, joking, walking, and breathing freely with her Angels. And if there is a casino over the rainbow, we know she has hit a jackpot!

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy
