Joan Mary Zelinski

Joan Mary Zelinski, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Paul Elder Services.

Joan was born on February 21, 1928 to Thomas and Thekla (Suess) Zelinski in Menasha. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's grade school and high school. Joan started in the office at Marathon Paper Company and retired after 40 years from James River. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, golfing and bowling. Joan liked to listen to the Brewers on the radio and loved her dog Missy. She took a special interest in her nieces and nephews and was a God mother to many of them. Many special times were spent during the summer at the family cottage on the lake. Joan was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was very active in her church.

Joan is survived by her sister Mary Lou Murphy, her brother Paul (Pat) Zelinski, sisters-in-law; Katherine Zelinski, Patricia Zelinski, and Judy Zelinski, 19 nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers; Robert, William and David Zelinski, a brother-in-law John Murphy and a nephew.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:30 AM at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 528 Second St., Menasha with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
