Joan Kiefer, age 75, of Kaukauna, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010. She was born May 11, 1934 in Menasha, daughter of the late Leonard and Della (Olson) Kiefer. Joan was a 1952 graduate of the Hilbert High School, and worked at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison for three years, then attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee where she received a degree in elementary education. She taught at Lincoln Avenue School in Milwaukee until her retirement in 1993, and Joan relocated to Kaukauna in 2002.

She is survived by two sisters: Janice (Mike) Vanden Heuvel and Judy (David) Laux; three aunts; an uncle; five nieces and two nephews and their families.

The funeral liturgy for Joan will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 10:30 am until the hour of mass.
